Mississippi Kite 

Each summer I am treated to numerous Mississippi Kites that frequent the area as well as nest here in Oklahoma. This year I located a nesting pair near Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City. I positioned my camera directly under the 30' tall nest tree and photographed the pair as they were building their stick nest. Mississippi Kites are neat birds and very protective of their young!
